Dear Colleagues,
last few years have brought a revolutionary development in the field of endoscopy. In this context we permanently need to update our knowledge, exchange experiences and improve our skills. At the University Clinic in Giessen a unique centre for minimal invasive surgery in Germany has come into being with the “Giessen School of Endoscopic Surgery (GSES)”, offering comprehensive training possibilities. A special main focus of the GSES is the concept of interdisciplinary training in collaboration with the Departments of Anatomy, General Surgery, Gynaecology, and Urology. Nationally and internationally renowned doctors provide with their wide spectrum of modern, endoscopic operation techniques a successful interdisciplinary network. The concept of continuing medical training allows in addition to selected lectures, telemedical transmissions of live operations and live-demonstrations of laparoscopic and hysteroscopic techniques in the sophisticated operating theatre of our clinic, also the practical training on pelvitrainers, and dissected animal organs. The objective of this course programme is either to impart the basic and standard techniques according to the operation procedures and to address experienced endoscopy practitioners. In addition the interactive exchange of experiences needs to be encouraged. All courses are recognised by “Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Gynäkologische Endoskopie” (AGE), the European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE) and the International Society for Gynaecological Endocrinology (ISGE). The certification of this continuing medical training by the Hessen Medical Association has been requested. We sincerely look forward to welcome you in Giessen!
